No wonder some say Hutch is like a “public” PE: Hutchison Whampoa of Hong Kong agreed on Friday to buy the European telecommunications company Orange Austria in a deal worth 1.3 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, including debt.
The clause would have prohibited the company’s shareholders from filing class-action lawsuits, forcing them into a confidential arbitration process instead.
